Episode 7: The Horses, The Oaks and Evictions
Enbourne Row is the location for the start of episode 7 and marks the beginning of an incredibly poignant sequence of footage, which involves two very unexpected guests at a moment of great sadness. Whether there is more to their appearance we shall leave that to the viewers.
We learn that there was, for a time, some effort made by police to police transparently, but that abruptly stopped when the work on the road began. This was the signal to the activists that evictions were about to begin, which the authorities were aiming to do within a 5 month period.
Towards the end of the episode we learn that a massive challenge for activists was the fact that they had no idea which camp was going to be evicted and when. It wasn’t until the Sheriff turned up to announce the eviction, making it legal, that the eviction would then begin in earnest and with little regard for activists' safety to say the least.
